Sakamichi planned to join the anime club in high school and make lots of friends, but without sufficient membership, the anime club had been disbanded. Imaizumi Shunsuke appears before a disappointed Sakamichi with his road racer, and....

The Sohoku High bicycle racing club holds a training camp to prepare for the Inter-high. On their way to the camp ground, as a carsick Sakamichi is taking a break, he encounters cyclist Manami Sangaku.

The training camp has finally begun. In order to complete Kinjou's grueling 1000km in four days menu, Imaizumi and Naruko start the morning with great intensity. Sakamichi follows Makishima's advice and begins covering more and more ground. Meanwhile, Inter-high participants from other schools begin steadily preparing for the tournament...!

However, second years Teshima and Aoyagi had been implementing a certain strategy against the first years...!

Second years Teshima and Aoyagi stand between the first years and their goal to finish 1,000 kilometers. In order to protect their lead, the second years challenge the first years.

Sakamichi breaks through Teshima's impregnable guard on the climb. With no tricks left, Teshima becomes discouraged, but moved by Aoyagi's strong will to go to the Inter-high together, he begins chasing the first years again.

After falling to last place, Sakamichi catches up to Imaizumi, Naruko, Teshima, and Aoyagi. Admist their emotions, the five boys clash in an all out sprint to the finish line! The battle between the first and second years for the Inter-high finally approaches its climax!

Having completed the difficult training camp, Sakamichi has grown, but with so much less experience and strength than the other members, be gives up on partipating in the Inter-high...

Every school's top sprinters begin racing at once to take the first checkpoint. Pursuing leaders Tadokoro and Naruko is a man who trained his body to perfection for this day, Hakone Academy's Izumida. Seeing how they defy his sprinting theory, Izumida calls them failures at sprinting.
