Yamaguchi Narumi is thriving in her single life—until the sudden, lonely passing of her admired career-woman aunt shakes her to the core. But once Nasuda confronts him with harsh truths about modern elder care, he begins to rethink things. Nasuda warns that investment in old age can be risky, and the two attempt to stop him. After so many years, her heart races when she first sees him—successful and eye-catching. Intrigued by his silent treatment, Narumi tries to get Nasuda's attention. But that is exactly what he wanted. He learned to manipulate others from his neglectful parents. He admits his feelings for her, explaining how he believed being together with Narumi would allow him to be "normal".
