Sugimoto finds a clue as to Asirpa’s whereabouts in Karafuto. He and his crew get more than they bargained for when they instead meet an Ainu girl named Enonoka. The trail leads them to a Russian village where they run into trouble with the locals.

The search for Asirpa's whereabouts leads Sugimoto and his crew to the underground circuit of stenka, a Russian martial art. It is here that they meet a mysterious tattooed fighter.

The past continues to haunt all who search for the truth: Asripa learns the of her father’s departure during the Japan-Russian War; Tsukishima recalls the time he met Tsurumi, a man on death row for murdering his father all while dredging up an uncomfortable truth of his own past.

The search for Asirpa takes a diversion when Sugimoto's crew meets Yamada's travelling circus and decide to take part in the evening's performance. However, Yamada's dark past is close behind.

Asirpa and her group encounters the Uilta tribe after Hyakunosuke mistakenly kills one of their reindeer. They must make amends by assisting in a hunt so that they may continue on their journey.

Asirpa comes to a crossroads in her journey. Ogata is faced with a terrible memory from his past.

Sugimoto and his team are separated while traversing a brutal blizzard, but eventually find themselves sheltered by an elderly Russian couple who tend to an old lighthouse.

Hijikata receives a clue that leads him to Nemuro to track down Yoichiro, the Manslayer, a man marked for death by many.

Shugimoto’s team heads to the village of Ako, where Asirpa’s father and his men are being held in prison.

The plan to bust Sophia out of Ako Prison hits a snag. Asirpa learns more of her father’s past.

Asirpa is confronted by Ogata about the secret code while the rest of the group is subject to a robbery attempt. Meanwhile, Sugimoto closes in.

What remains of Asirpa and Sugimoto’s crew heads to a Nivkh village in Ako to find a doctor for Ogata.
