Hidehiko Hayakawa was a pitching legend, and his daughter Ryo has inherited his gift. She plays on the local sandlot and can strike out any challenger with ease. But one day, two goons show up and challenge her to a duel. Who sent these men and why?

Amazing things keep happening, one after the other. First a mysterious boy enters the batter's cage, taking up the challenge against Ryo. And the next day, Ryo is offered a scholarship for a prestigious girls' school! But she can't possibly accept it...

Izumi is a world-class tennis player whose power, poise and grace make her one of the stars of Kisaragi Girls' High School. Ryo gets to see her in action for a bit, but there are more important things on her mind at the moment, like her school interview!

Seira is a fiery redhead who used to be a master athlete. There was even talk of her going to the Olympics... but now she's only interested in pool halls and street fights. Coach Kido has been given a dangerous mission: recruit her for Kisaragi.

In a quiet little village on the sea, there's a girl named Koharu who once mastered the Wave Motion Swing. Though Ryo tries to convince her to join Kisaragi's team, Koharu is adamant that she'll never play again. What could be holding her back?

Two new girls might join the Kisaragi team! The first is Mao, a girl whose huge figure should make her the perfect catcher, but she's too timid to catch the ball. The other is Yoko, who has a pretty face, but a resume that smells too fishy to be true.

The Kisaragi Girls' team is starting to come together! But it takes nine people to play baseball, and the team is still one person short. Their best hope lies with Izumi, the star tennis player, but she has less than zero interest in helping Ryo.

Izumi's finally learns whose picture is in her mother's locket... and when she does, she hates Ryo more than ever. She issues a challenge: Ryo's pitching versus Izumi's batting. And if Izumi wins, the Kisaragi Girls' Baseball team must disband!

The time has come for Ryo and Izumi to have their showdown. Ryo has experience on her side, but Izumi has confidence and an unbeatable will... not to mention some personal coaching from Takasugi!

The Kisaragi girls are about to play their first real game as a team. They're up against a strong junior high group, but they're still one person short, so Nene the manager has stepped up to the plate! Hope she knows how to swing a bat...

Kanako's father has always been against a girls' baseball team. He's about to hold a meeting to decide the fate of the team once and for all, but Kanako gathers her courage and asks him to do just one thing: keep the team alive!

The girls are all fired up and ready for training camp! But before they go, there's enough time for a little romance. Izumi treats Takasugi to a homemade dinner along the riverbank at sunset, but it seems Takasugi's heart is in another place.

Everyone's working hard at training camp, except for Izumi, who seems incredibly distracted. She knows about Takasugi and Ryo, and there's no way she'll let him go without a fight!

As the rain pours all around, Takasugi and Ryo take shelter in an old, cold cabin. Alone together for the first time in a while, they finally have a chance to speak their feelings.

Yuki always kept to herself, rarely speaking to anyone but her little doll, Fifi. But now Fifi has gone missing, and to everyone's shock, Yuki is despondent, weeping genuine tears. What was it that made the little charm so special?

The regional preliminaries have begun. It's the first step on the long road to Koshien! But the Kisaragi girls' first opponent is Hori Private, a school full of thugs and bruisers. How will the girls fare against a group of guys five times their size?

Though the girls are racking up win after win, Coach Kido can tell that something's not quite right with Ryo. Seishiro can sense it too, and for Ryo's sake he'll do whatever he can to help, even if that means confronting Takasugi.
