We meet the girls and find out what is happening with their lives. They have been asked to work back late even though they all have previous engagements.

In this episode Deb goes home to the farm to visit her daughter Luen. Clare and Nigel go to the track after getting a hot tip on a horse. Guniea goes to the ball with Alfalfa and meets Byron.

Nigel turns up at Clare's and he has lost all the money. She kicks him out without telling him about the baby. Byron asks Guinea to marry him. Deb's husband Jack is back and has lots of big ideas for the future.

Deb needs to catch the bus to see Jack at the farm. Guinea sees marrying Byron as a way out so she says yes. Claire has the abortion but there are complications.
