Comedy legend Jennifer Saunders and best pal, actress Patricia Potter, take to the road in Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire before heading for an auction in Greenwich, London. Jennifer hears about Fred Karno, the man credited with inventing slapstick comedy, while Patricia learns how a surgeon from Reading used his incredible sense of smell to successfully treat soldiers injured in WWI.

Legends of stage and screen, Charles Dance and Geraldine James join antiques experts on this Road Trip around Wiltshire. Charles finds a pair of Edwardian silver vases he hopes will prove profitable at an auction in Essex. Geraldine, however, bumps into a chap in the street with a 19th century French Empire secretaire. Anita and Alex find themselves on an Antiques ‘Boat’ Trip as they reminisce about childhood trips down the Clyde. And Claire and Paul see first-hand what Stirling castle would’ve looked like in the 16th century.

Gourmet gastronomes Tony Singh and Cyrus Todiwala set off from Dundee, snaking down the east coast of Scotland for an auction. Cyrus proves to have a flair for negotiating and Tony’s not shy about naming his price. Tony discovers why one Scottish city was home to many millionaires and Cyrus finds his sea legs as he learns why Anstruther was a pivotal fishing port in the 19th century.

Top wheelchair paralympians Tanni Grey-Thompson and Jade Jones look for antiques in the northeast of England with experts Phil Serrell and David Harper. Tanni tries her hand at traditional glass making and Jade learns about the man who was a design champion of the region.

Award-winning journalists John Stapleton and Lynn Faulds Wood are joined by Thomas Plant and Margie Cooper. With £400 in their pockets, the teams kick off in Wrightington, Lancashire and head to Stockport for auction. Lynn and Thomas are knee-deep in antiques while hunting for old biscuit tins and Margie tries to convince John some rare lamps will make a profit.

Historians Suzannah Lipscomb and Kate Williams are paired with experts David Harper and Catherine Southon on a trip from Bletchley to an auction in London. They hear how Mrs. Beeton became the first domestic goddess and why Luton played a critical role in the fashion world when hats were daily wear. David and Suzannah gamble on a giant ant while Catherine and Kate spring for a very large tea urn.

Blue Peter presenters Sarah Greene and Peter Duncan are on the hunt for antiques around Surrey, Hertfordshire and London. Peter detours to learn how hockey became a popular sport the world over, while keen aviator Sarah sees how the Battle of Britain was won. An incredible haul of antiques, including chimney pots, Pinocchio and a pair of African fertility figures, go under the gavel at an auction.
