Accidental Renovators

Cal and Claire realize the gravitas of restoring Jameswood Villa and start a Go Fund Me page for financial help. The scaffolding is erected; structural work commences on the roof. Along with the help of two local neighbors, Cal turns his attention to a large crack in the supporting beam at the front of the house threatening the structure if it is not fixed urgently.

A huge storm is making its way towards Dunoon, threatening all of Cal and Claire's hard work and progress made so far on the roof. Cal and Claire reach 100,000 followers on their Instagram account, finish tiling the roof with the help of volunteers and prepare for a Christmas break.

With the help of volunteers Cal & Claire dig up the garden and tackle two major structural challenges. Armed with a team of fresh volunteers over the summer Cal and Claire also manage to build a new extension for a utility room, take a fresh delivery of new timber and prepare for the installation of their new floor joists, with time off for a beach day with friends and an important anniversary.

It's December 2020 and the internal layout of Jameswood Villa is finally coming together. Cal and Claire benefit from their new influencer status to acquire ethically-sourced windows and reach a momentous stage in the project: applying the first coat of paint, something that they could only dream of three years ago.
