Sicknote rescues a trapped high-rise window cleaner, and Malcolm is devastated to learn that the child he rescued has sustained brain damage. Back at the watch, everybody suffers when Sicknote takes over the mess hall.

New recruit Kate Stevens proves herself by saving a baby in a chemical lorry accident. Meanwhile, George finds true love on the dance floor.

Bayleaf returns to the kitchen, much to the crew's relief. But the members of Blue Watch have little time to eat, as they must respond to a flood of calls involving everything from a pregnant cat to a man on his stag night.

Blue Watch is called to a flat belonging to Tate's elderly acquaintance. Meanwhile, Tate receives a routine medical checkup.
