Institution of southern rock, the Allman Brothers drew attention at the very end of the 60’s with their mixture of country-rock blended with blues and jazz. Led by Duane Allman and his brother Gregg, this group quickly became successful, before Duane died suddenly in 1971 while riding his Harley.
