Kendall, a tiny village on the mid north Coast of New South Wales, Austis a sleepy hamlet. Nothing much happens there. That is, until William Tyrrell, a three year old child on holidays visiting relatives in Benaroon Drive on the outskirts of the small town - goes missing without a trace. One moment he was playing in his relative's yard, wearing his Spiderman suit... the next moment he was gone.

When William went missing, there were no tearful parents on TV begging for his return. He was a foster child - and identifying his biological family or foster family is against strict state laws, supposedly in place to protect young people in foster care. For the first time, William's biological family has their say on the little boy who never stood a chance.
