Dreamy, thoughtful, whimsical abodes - including the art and clowning around of Clement Cote in rural Quebec, a couple's dream home of a railroad car turned into a houseboat in Sausalito, California, and the 'Cosmic Muffin' an airplane once owned by Howard Hughes that has been converted to a floating home.

Alain Dubreil, a Vancouver salvage artist has created such a unique home, it is in constant demand as a film set. And the Turners of Boulder Creek, California live in a home shaped like a cluster of bubbles.

Ira Poole of Texas has let his imagination go wild and has created a Statue of Liberty in his own front yard and is now just completing an Egyptian Sphinx. Outside the Egan's home heavy metal wildlife sculptures graze in the yard; inside, the home is decorated in Mexican "Day of the Dead" theme.

In the desert outside Tuscon, Arizona, we find Mary Lou Gully living in a rock castle, hand-built for her by her eccentric father. The Links are the only inhabitants living in a ghost town in New Mexico and in San Francisco, the Katzmans have converted a fire station into their cozy home, complete with a working fire truck.

There are no limits to creativity...Jerry Hall and Sherry Haney are rebels with a cause in Tucson, Arizona - some of their art defies city code. And affectionately known around Montana as 'the old wreckin' yard', Charles Ringer has turned his home and yard into an incredible gallery of his own kinetic sculptures and steel vegetation.

Passion for life, art and pastimes infuses these homes. In Roundup, Montana, you'll find Tim Anderson's 'divinely inspired' fantasyland. Ron Senko's 'hobbies' threaten to consume his life - his model railroad and record collections encrust the interior while his impressive garden envelops the exterior.

In Loveland, Ohio, Ken Klosterman hides his 'Salon de Magic' in an old mine shaft. Come down 83 feet to see the largest collection of antique and historical magic memorabilia in North America. From above, Glenn Young's dome home looks like a simple hill, but below ground it is truly amazing.

Sometimes the past is too perfect to leave behind. A couple in Butte, Montana, 'conduct' their life in a 19th century mansion built by The Copper King. The Meinzer's in Texas 'do time' in their renovated 1887 Knox County Jailhouse. And Jacqueline Lagakos has decorated her 130-year-old Victorian home with impressive mosaics and bottle-art.

These folks find creativity away from the hustle and bustle of city life. On a 10,000 acre ranch in Arizona, the Webers spend their days hunting rattlesnakes for their art. Far out in Miami County, Kansas, the Wise's renovated 1910 farmhouse colourfully reflects the couples' often conflicting styles and tastes.
