Woman -My Life for My Children-

Koharu loses her husband Shin in an accident and raises two children alone. Working multiple jobs, she still struggles. When she seeks welfare, she is denied for not meeting the conditions. Asked about relatives, she says she has none. Her father died, and she cut ties with her mother, who left her 20 years ago. Yet her mother now offers help, and Koharu decides to meet her. ©NIPPON TV

One day, after work, Koharu finds a neighbor and a child welfare worker at her home. The neighbor reported that Nozomi and Riku were often alone at night. Suspecting neglect, the worker urges her to leave them with someone. Koharu sends them to Yuki, now remarried and living in a rural log house. Koharu goes to pick up Nozomi, who got lost trying to return to Tokyo. There she meets Shiori, who calls her "sister," leaving Koharu unsure how to respond. Later, Kentaro offers to watch the children while Koharu works. She accepts, but when Sachi returns home she treats them coldly. At dinner, tensions rise, and Koharu and Sachi argue. ©NIPPON TV

Daycare staff warn Koharu that quiet Riku may have a speech delay. Learning he likes dogs, she takes him and Nozomi to a park, but he shows little interest. One night she finds him crying and murmuring "Bun." He leads them to a lost dog poster, revealing his feelings. Tests reveal Koharu has aplastic anemia. Doctors urge treatment, but she cannot stop working and tells no one, trying to stay cheerful for her children. When an air conditioner arrives at her apartment, she thinks Kentaro sent it, but learns it may be from Sachi. As her illness worsens, Koharu asks Sachi to let her and the children live with her, hiding the truth about her condition. Sachi refuses at first, but agrees when Shiori says she wants them there. Learning what Shiori did to Shin, Koharu is shaken and decides to leave the Uesugi home. Sachi struggles between her daughters. Unaware, Nozomi and Riku look forward to the town's summer festival. Koharu is hospitalized for several days, and Sachi cares for Nozomi and Riku. Seeing Nozomi reminds her of young Koharu, so she goes to the hospital to test if her bone marrow matches Koharu's. Meanwhile Kentaro learns about Koharu's illness and Shiori's link to Shin's death, then decides to visit Shiori after she leaves home. ©NIPPON TV

Nozomi senses something is wrong with Koharu. Koharu wants to hide her illness to spare her pain, but Nozomi seeks the truth and goes to the hospital to see if Koharu is there. One morning Koharu, Nozomi, Riku, Sachi, and Kentaro enjoy a normal breakfast, but Sachi and Kentaro are tense regarding Shiori's bone marrow test result.
