Siyaya

The kids sing a song to the rainmakers and get drenched in a thunderstorm. They wander stonewalls of the ancient Kingdom of Mapunguwe, once rich from the gold and ivory trade before encountering hostile elephants and the legendary baobab trees.

The zebra-striped bus causes confusion for a pride of lions searching for a kill. Oompie and the kids emerge unharmed then almost walk into a herd of rhinos, luckily the peaceful White Rhinos. They also cheer ants against termites in a battle for turf.

The kids help rangers immunize Cape Buffalo being transported from one section of the park to another where they are allowed to give medical injections while the animals sleep. They also view rock paintings of wild animals by Khosian "First Peoples."

The zebra bus gets stuck in the red sands of a big dune stranding Oompie and the kids. This gives them a chance to visit the local San people where they learn San words and which plants can be used to survive for food, water and medicine.

The youngsters witness how animals "borrow" dinner as cheetahs hunt a gemsbok that gets snatched away by a pride of lions. As they gaze at the night sky, Oompie tells the kids how the moon gives messages to both humans and animals below.

The kids come within yards of meeting the legendary cheetah, "White Eye" who is hurt and hungry. The kids respectfully leave him hoping he will heal. When they return in winter, they discover he has died but White Eye has a surprise in store.

The kids come face-to-face with a Black Rhino and her calf and find that safety relies on their ability to act "invisible." After game rangers tranquilize rhinos to relocate them, the kids get to touch the horn prized by poachers ready to kill them.

The zebra bus merges with a herd of actual zebras who are not fooled. The kids explore by horseback caves and wetlands finding rock art of San mythology. A helicopter ride gives them a superb view of sandstone formations dating back to dinosaur days.

The youngsters ride scary whitewater rapids in rubber rafts, just missing a waterfall called, "The Place of the Big Noise." After the desert, they are overwhelmed by the power of water.

Oompie and team follow the spoor of legendary Big Snake, a shape-shifting spirit. They sample bitter plants used for survival and play music on thorny plant spikes before paying tribute at the grave of sisters whose lives intertwined with Big Snake.

Still searching the Big Snake, the zebra bus crosses the Orange River into Namibia on a scary bridge. Oompie and team find engravings of the ancient Nama people in a dry riverbed that leads to well-hidden artwork in a 30,000 year old cave!

Oompie and team explore the deep Fish River Canyon. Legend has it that its twists and turns were created when Big Snake was chased through the desert by humans. Stories about this mythical creature are shared by campfire on the edge of the deep canyon.

In their final quest for Big Snake, Oompie and team take a hair-raising rafting trip surviving white water rapids, sharp rocks and whirlpools before stumbling upon a great find the next day: ancient graves and rock carvings including one of Big Snake!
