Robb Ortel's Art Attack

Robb takes to the not-so-friendly skies to attempt two incredible aerial challenges in this adrenaline filled first episode. Facing his fear of heights, he trains with one of the most accomplished American aerialists in the world, Kayla Dyches. He then goes on to apprentice under skydiving champion Niklas Daniel to learn the dangerous craft of aerial photography.

Every adventurous child has played with fire at one time or another. Our two featured artistic daredevils on this episode have turned that desire and curiosity into a dangerous commodity. Fire Goddess Anatolia engulfs her entire body with flames and painter Drew Lausman blows up the art scene, literally.

Who doesn't like playing in the sand? Well some people might not when they learn that extreme sand sculpting can kill you if done wrong. Thankfully for Robb, he's training with experts Bill and Marianne Knight, a team of sand architects in Florida. Then Robb heads off to Texas to meet with artist Scott Wade who pioneered the art form known as "Dirty Car Art."

Alix Briskham is one of the only virtual reality painters in the world, and she's bringing her unique skill set from the UK to the Big Apple. Robb will get trained in this modern medium of bits and bytes that's literally on the bleeding edge of technology. Teaming up with a virtual reality music video company in Connecticut, they create one of the first VR art music videos ever.

Seattle based Ebru artist Danny Rodriguez tries to bring some zen and peace to Robb as he tries his hand at this ancient aquatic art form. Then it's off to lay on a bed of nails and lift 100lbs with his teeth and hammer nails through a frying pans with the one and only Titano the circus strongman!

As children when we are given a marker, we often choose to draw on our body before choosing a piece of paper. For body painter Natalie Fletcher, no such mantra could ring truer. Ryan Ouellette on the other hand, likes to mark up his body with something a little more permanent. He attempts to not only teach Robb the art of scarification, but convince him to also go under the knife.

Robb heads to the Big Easy to attempt an art form that's incredibly hard. Artist Josephine Sacabo has created her own form of creative gumbo so to speak, she is a seasoned journalist, street photographer, and expert photogravure artist. In West Virginia, Robb helps Benn Zaricor, (one of the last remaining billboard painters) pay tribute to the Mothman of Point Pleasant.

Controversial, caustic, and down right rude at times, street artist "Sucklord" is considering retirement; but before he does he's reluctantly giving Robb the chance to master his unusual action figure driven art form. Things get weirder when Robb heads to New Orleans to work with Voodoo artist Sallie Ann Glassman to leave creative offerings to artists long past.
