Richard returns to Falcon Crest after his supposed funeral, and Angela fights to regain control of the winery.

Falcon Crest burns and Lance plunges into the inferno to save Melissa, with surprising results for the whole Valley. Angela arranges a secret meeting between Frank Agretti and his estranged son Nick. Richard searches for the "The Thirteen" killers as Emma takes a typist job with a reclusive writer and his assistant.

Richard suspects Senator Ryder's brother of being the killer of "The Thirteen" but his miscalculation could prove deadly for him and Maggie. Angela hires a famous lawyer to defend Lance from murder charges in Melissa's death.

Richard shows his finesse at blackmail when he convinces the DA to drop murder charges against Lance, who isn't a bit grateful. Maggie agonizes over having killed Senator Ryder, Nick Agretti is enchanted when he comes upon Pilar skinny dipping and Angela uses her old methods to regain control of Falcon Crest.

Nick surrenders Falcon Crest to Angela, who begins to rebuild, and forestalls further blackmail by telling Ben the truth about his mother. Richard uses The Globe to prove Lance's innocence, but warns Pilar to keep her affair with Lance from interfering with Richard's plans to take over the Valley.

Family strife erupts over the holidays as Ben turns against his father for lying to him about his mother and Frank debates leaving the valley to mine emeralds.

Pilar agonizes over Mercedes' impending adoption of Lisa. Angela digs into the consortium after being outmaneuvered for the purchase of a bottling company and Emma is astonished to learn that Cabot has also been hiding some secrets about his identity.

Angela's lavish wedding plans for Emma's nuptials infuriate the very private bridegroom. Pilar turns to Nick for comfort when Lance becomes involved with Cookie Nash. Maggie debates Tommy's role in the vandalization of her newspaper office.

On-again, off-again wedding hysteria reaches a crescendo as Angela's hands-on overkill clashes with R.D.'s intense fear of public scrutiny. Pilar and Lance's romance rekindles, Nick warns Ben that the Cellini family is dangerous and an unexpected guest stirs the valley.

Cookie presents Lance with shocking news. Pilar soothes Angela's worry about the consortium while plotting with Richard. The newly arrived Anna Cellini reunites with Ben but worries that her father will force her to return his only heir to Italy.

As the SEC investigates Richard, Pilar and Sinclair join forces to undermine his defense. Lance searches for Angela, who escapes with Samantha's "help." Richard spots Tommy in Maggie's hotel suite.

Angela has a hard time convincing her family she was kidnapped, but Pilar gains her trust with a plan to regain control of the Glenbraddoch stock. Richard warns Pilar off her investigation, wins custody of the children and gets a warrant ordering Angela into custody for a psychiatric evaluation.

Harassed by mental patients, Angela undermines her own case with her behavior at her judicial review. Richard begins to have doubts about Samantha, Ben mourns Anna, and Nick seeks control of Falcon Crest.

Frank uncovers the origins of the Agretti-Gioberti feud, Pilar bribes the hospital to fire everyone involved in Gabriel's case, Maggie's reputation suffers from her association with Tommy and Angela makes a stunning revelation after being declared mentally incompetent.

A triumphant Angela returns to Falcon Crest as Frank Agretti's bride, and the family rallies around her to begin planning Richard's destruction. Samantha returns with evidence of Richard's involvement in Angela's kidnapping, and Pilar and Angela work with the SEC to ensure Richard's financial ruin.
