Tired of small town life, Cassie Barnes (Jean Harlow) heads for the glamour of New York where her old friend, Gladys Kane (Mae Clark), is ensconced in a luxury Park Avenue apartment courtesy of her rich, yet married, boyfriend, Arthur Phillips. After losing a series of jobs, Cassie falls for the unhappily married Jerry Dexter (Walter Byron).
