The World From Above

This journey begins in the heart of France, at the ruins of Oradour sur-Glane. Once a thriving village, it now stands as a symbol for the ravages of war. Dropping south, it's on to the region of Lot and the dramatic Cliffside village of Rocamadour. We travel along the Dordogne River to the old port city of Bergerac before going on to explore the castles and vineyards of the Lot valley.

This journey begins amongst the cloudy tops of the Mourne Mountains. From there, we travel to Strangford Lough and the historic town of Killyleagh. We make our way to Belfast, where we discover some of the city's most impressive landmarks. Then it's on to Carrickfergus Castle before heading inland to Lough Neagh, Ireland's largest freshwater lake.

This journey begins following the extensive Nebraskan railway system out into the Oglala Grasslands. From there we'll fly south to Fort Robinson State Park, once the site of ferocious battles between American Indians and early European settlers. We'll pass old-west style stagecoaches and galloping herds of buffalo as we head to the town of Alliance, a historic center of the Wild West.

This journey, which follows the border between Wyoming and Montana, begins amongst the mountains of Yellowstone Park's Soda Butte Valley and the landmark summit of Pilot Peak. From the dramatic glaciers of the Absaroka Range we turn to make our way to Beartooth pass, and the road that's been described as "the most beautiful drive in America."

Our journey begins in Missoula, the only city on our route, and home to the University of Montana. We then head deep into the Flathead National Forest, a refuge for the once endangered bison. It's then north to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex, one of America's finest achievements in conservation. Finally, we fly north again along the vast range of the Rocky Mountains.

Our journey begins in Fort William, one of the largest towns in the Scottish Highlands, before following the Great Glen Way, the geological fault-line that slashes across Scotland. It takes us along the Caledonian Canal to Loch Ness, home to the world's most famous mythical monster.

We start our journey in Mantua, Italy. Moving south and across the River Po we come to the town of Parma, also known as the Golden City, before heading to Bologna and its fascinating medieval skyscrapers. Making our way to the Adriatic coast, we stop at the ancient port town of Ravenna. It's then on to one of the biggest and best known beach resorts in Europe.

Our journey begins on the northern coast of Sicily near the capital city of Palermo. We then head toward the province of Agrigento for a tour of the greatest collection of Greek temples outside of Athens. In the province of Enna, we take in one of the best views in all of Sicily before traveling east across mountains and farmland.

Our journey begins in northern Spain, charting a path across the fertile plains of the province of Castile and Leon, and the rugged landscape and medieval villages of the Obarenes Mountains. We arrive at the vibrant city of Bilbao, capital of the Basque country. Then it's on to some of Spain's most beautiful coastal vistas and the harbor town of Mundaka.

Our journey begins amongst the hills and medieval ruins of the Palatinate Forest. Crossing the vast vineyards of the Rhine valley takes us to Karlsruhe, the city planned around its grand palace. After a detour to Bruchsal we head to Bustling Stuttgart, home of Mercedes-Benz. From there, we travel through the countryside to the enchanted Bavarian town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Our journey starts at Reykjavik, Europe's northernmost capital. From there, we travel to the Reykjanes Peninsula, one of the most active volcanic regions in the world. After paying a visit to Iceland's top tourist attraction, the Blue Lagoon Thermal Baths, we explore the villages and lava fields of the southwest coast.

We begin our journey in the northeast of Switzerland at the impressive Rheinau Abbey. We briefly hop across to Germany to see the medieval castle ruins at Küssaberg before dropping south to the shimmering Lake Zurich and its famous city on the shore. We move on to Basel, the cultural heart of Switzerland and then travel south find the administrative capital, Bern.

Our journey begins at the charming literary seaside town of Laugharne. We travel through the rolling hills of southern Carmarthenshire before crossing to the heart of the wild Brecon Beacons National Park. Next, we explore some of the country's many historic castles and religious monuments, followed by the industrial coal mining heartlands of the South Wales Valleys.

Our journey begins in the capital of Maine, Augusta. Once a thriving seaport, it is now the seat of government for this rugged, scenic state. Dropping south, it's on to the midcoast region in the Gulf Of Maine, and the dramatic cliffs at Pemaquid Point. The journey takes us to Monhegan Island for a birds-eye view of island life.
