Gloria Savant, discusses the rising success of Jacob Abayomi with executives at Globex. His recent deals have angered some dangerous enemies. Folake Abayomi's impending marriage causes dissent in her family and a sinister warning has everyone on edge.

Femi emerges from the smoke with a badly hurt child in his arms. Lerato devastated by the violence is forced to weigh the safety of her family against Jacobs dream. She returns to Johannesburg, leaving Jacob, Andile and Dafe to look for the bomber.

Jacob comforts Andile and Busi, but they resent him for the death of their child. Folake and Dafe are estranged, the bombing and family disapproval has taken a toll. Lerato stuns Jacob by making a decision that will alter their lives.

Femi's mask is revealed when he makes Bola an extraordinary offer. Gloria questions where Femi's loyalty lies – is blood thicker than oil? Jacob discovers that Paul is a tough opponent – can he be trusted?

Femi's rise to power accelerates as he is accepted into the Abayomi family business, secretly acquires shares and proves his loyalty to Gloria. Bola is a free man, but not for long. The "dark legacy" of Brand Holdings may jeopardize the uranium bid.

Bola double crosses cousin Femi, he makes a deal with Gloria who is determined to take Jacob down. As Zanele wakes from her coma, Thembi insists she must bond with baby Isaac which puts pressure on Jacob.

Andile commits an act that forces Jacob to choose between his family and his morals, a choice that will keep him trapped in a shared secret with far-reaching consequences. Zanele makes a startling discovery about Femi.

Femi makes a shocking revelation. Lerato arrives back in Joburg to find an unexpected house guest. Lulama gets wind that Paul has not been completely transparent in the uranium deal and Jacob makes a panic decision with serious consequences.

Jacob and Folake realize a coup within the family is being planned when they discover Bola's shares have been sold. Andile and Dafe's tireless bomber investigation begins to pay off and Femi reveals his identity to a shocked Abayomi clan.

Chichi makes a discovery that has tragic consequences. Zanele's focus is shifting from her child to her personal needs. And Jacob battles to hold onto his idealism and refinery deal, while a powerful and dark enemy from his past works against him.

Jacob believes Abayomi is being sabotaged by a global player with seemingly endless resources. Lisa discovers that Paul is not a man to cross and Femi realizes he has been a puppet in a game with dangerously high stakes.

Jacob is shocked when Prospero reveals that Bola has made contact with Billie, convinced that her life could be in danger, he provides safety, but Bola has another target in mind.
