HMS Ballantrae is an ageing battleship known as "Gift Horse." Brought out of retirement during the Second World War, she is assigned the job of leading an attack on an important enemy base. Although the crew is initially skeptical about "Gift Horse' and its capabilities, they must fight as best they can to triumph.
