The Fall

Gibson watches over Spector as he undergoes emergency surgery for gunshot wounds. Spector's latest victim, Rose Stagg, also recovers in the same hospital, along with DS Anderson. Meanwhile, Gibson and Burns try to fend off the media.

Burns and his superiors decide to give Spector's name to the media, and Gibson faces opposition from Burns before her interview with the policing executive about the shooting. Katie lashes out, and Spector's daughter grows more curious about what happened to her father.

Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson [Gillian Anderson] discovers evidence that there may be more victims. Keen to get Spector [Jamie Dornan] back into the justice system Gibson speaks to August Larson [Krister Henriksson] the consultant psychiatrist who will be assessing Spector. Sally-Ann reaches breaking point.

Gibson and Dr Larson [Krister Henriksson] clash over their different view of Spector - patient or prisoner? Meanwhile, Anderson [Colin Morgan] and Ferrington [Niamh McGrady] are dispatched to London to discover if Spector can be linked to an old murder there.

To her discomfort, Gibson's dream journal is released to Spector's defense team. Spector's psychiatric team evaluates his fitness to stand trial, and Katie appears in court for violating her bail conditions.

THE FALL concludes as Gibson [Gillian Anderson] and Anderson [Colin Morgan] put fresh evidence to Spector [Jamie Dornan] with explosive results. Spector's new found friendship in the secure psychiatric facility develops with devastating consequences. Gibson goes to see Katie [Aisling Franciosi], who is struggling with her incarceration.
