A homeless Petka, nicknamed "Knave", stole a gold watch, but soon he gets into an orphanage. Then he decides to bury the clock, and at the first opportunity, dig up and run away with them. But the events that have happened change the character of the boy. In the orphanage, he learns the value of human kindness, warmth and care, the joy of friendship. In the end, he returns the clock to the owner.
