NASCAR 2020: Under Pressure

Following an electrifying Daytona 500, the 2020 season gets into full swing with a string of West Coast races. But in early March, the COVID-19 pandemic causes shutdowns across the sports landscape, and NASCAR makes the decision to pause its season.

Thrilling races at Martinsville and Talladega ramp up the intensity of the season's summer stretch, while Bubba Wallace's advocacy following George Floyd's death brings new fans to the sport and inspires NASCAR to acts of solidarity and cultural change.

After a whirlwind summer, NASCAR reaches the final race of the regular season, 400 miles at Daytona. Ryan Newman returns to the site of a horrific crash in the Daytona 500, while other drivers sit on the knife's edge of making or missing the playoffs.

Round 1 of the NASCAR playoffs kick off with the Southern 500 at Darlington. Matt DiBenedetto begins his first career playoff appearance, and Austin Dillon breaks out after a summer loaded with the new responsibilities of fatherhood and a bout with COVID.

The Round of 12 includes wild card races at Las Vegas, Talladega and Charlotte. Kurt Busch looks to make some noise as an underdog, Bubba Wallace returns to Talladega with his career on the upswing, and Richard Childress Racing attacks their home track.

There are just three races left to qualify for the championship race. The pressure is on as eight teams try to position themselves for the title. Four drivers will move on while the other four are left to wonder what might have been.
