The 15 Food Network Star hopefuls arrive in New York and are challenged right off the bat to create their very own Pop-Up restaurant with an extremely limited budget and very little time.

The finalists are split into three teams that take busloads of tourists on a tour of a different neighborhood in New York City. Then each finalist must prepare and serve a dish based on the research they do in the neighborhoods.

The 13 remaining finalists must use a basket of ingredients to create their best sweet concoction in a head-to-head inter-team battle, Chopped style!

It's Fashion Week in New York and the finalists "make over" a bland dish for the most fashionable crowd on the planet. Ted Allen is on hand to judge the fashion shows, plus an extra prize is announced for the winning finalist.

Each finalist must create and perform a live television special based on a holiday or event. Food Network Star season 2 winner Guy Fieri hosts each special and gives feedback on which team and individuals performed the best.

Ten finalists must elevate food-court food while adapting to the limitations of a kiosk. The challenge is taken to another level when they learn they'll be feeding Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian in addition to 150 hungry shoppers!

The finalists are challenged to film their own promotional videos without the support of their producers. A panel of journalists grills each of the finalists with tough questions about the show they want to bring to Food Network.

The finalists must cook adult and kid-friendly meals for Paula Deen's beach party at Miami's South Beach Wine and Food Festival. The final eight will also have to perform a 30-second "entertaining tip" on camera.

The seven finalists are guests at a SOBE cooking-demo tent, where they're asked to take the stage for their very own demos in front of the crowd. During their demos, however, each faces a technical glitch set up by the producers.

The six finalists star in promos that are judged by A-list Food Network stars and only three finalists make the cut. The finalists who survive will get to make pilots for their very own show led by their producer.

After a look back at the three finalists' journeys, America's vote is revealed and the next Food Network Star is crowned.
