For 13-year-old friends Alex and Ferry, Hitler's war is an exciting game. Their town is ignored by the Allied bombers and they long to discover the secrets of sexuality. But as bombs start falling on their town, the boys are sent to a Czech spa to wait out the end of the war where they learn a secret about Alex that complicates things - he's Jewish.
