When Amy discovers a horse named Spartan is being abused she convinces her mother Marion to help rescue him. A storm causes their truck to crash and when Amy wakes up in the hospital she discovers her mother was killed in the accident. The family is left to carry on Marion's legacy by pitching in to run her ranch in Canada's heartland.
