Lily's Easy to Read

Two friends - a Monkey and an Elephant, living in a forest, once happen to come by a big basket of fresh bananas and the monkey runs to eat it. Figuring it to be a trap, the elephant warns the monkey but he falls into a pit. The elephant pulls out the monkey and they walk home happy and grateful.

A kitten sees a bird flying and wishes he could fly. The cat asks the bird to teach him to fly. The bird points out that he cant fly without wings. Stubborn and headstrong, the makes a pair of wings out of banana leaves, pinned them to his shoulders, stood at the crest of a mountain and leapt to fly. The flimsy leaves tear and he falls into a pond. Moral - Think before you act.

A fox who love to tell lies came across a thirsty rabbit by the riverbank. In the hope to scare away the rabbit, the fox lies to the rabbit of a hungry crocodile lying in the river, scaring him away. The rabbit runs away and a crocodile lying in wait by the river teaches the fox a lesson when he comes to drink water and scares him away. Moral - Lying costs you.

A naughty monkey resting on a rock sees a deer. He picks up a stone and throws it at the deer. The deer cries in pain and runs away. An elephant comes to the forest and is welcomed by all, except the monkey. he monkey plays his tricks, the elephant in anger, grabs the monkey, swings him around and tosses him into the air. The monkey falls into a pond. e has learnt his lesson to not trouble others.

A Snake lives in a tree hole and eats all animals that live near-by. The snake grows fatter by the day and feels proud and powerful. It sees an ant and asks him to bow before him. The ant refuses, the snake attacks him with his tail. The ant calls for help and an army of ants bite every inch of the snake.

A cunning fox falls into a ditch and cries out for help. A goat sees the fox helpless, bends his head and asks the fox to hang on to his horns. The fox holds on to the horns and climbs out. Ungratefully he tries to grab the goat. The goat kicks the fox hard with his legs. The fox falls back into the ditch never to be saved again.

A clever rabbit walks towards a pond and sees the reflection of the moon inside. A Fox comes by and asks what the rabbit is up to. The cheeky rabbit tells the fox that there is a large cheese inside the pond and one can eat the cheese if they drink up all the water. The stupid fox does as told, feels his stomach hurt and runs away.

A rabbit comes across a big carrot one day and greedily doesn't want to share it with his friend the squirrel. On his way, he needs to cross a bridge and drops the carrot into the river. The rabbit cries in dismay.

While a tortoise and a monkey are walking through a forest, the monkey teases the tortoise of being too slow and cannot save himself in need. The tortoise feels hurt. Two friends see a fox come by. The monkey begins to climb a tree while the tortoise pulls herself into her shell. Seeing the shell, the fox thinks it to be empty and walks away. The monkey apologises for teasing the tortoise.
