Sana returns home after being away for five years. He takes a walk through town to see what has changed since he was last there only to discover that things are pretty much the same.

It is Sana's first day of school and to his surprise he is nominated as the class monitor. As he explores the school looking for a lost box, he happens across a piano and immediately remembers the song that was a gift to him many years ago.

When Sana was away, a rift formed between him and Nanaka. To mend the rift, the group plans a day trip to the river to reminisce. Nanaka becomes jealous when Asami is invited by Sana but soon sees they all are still friends when gifts are exchanged.

On his way home, Shu rescues a school girl from a bully. Hinako tracks Shu down and comes to see him every day. Unknown to Shu, Hinako who is only 10 years old wants to profess her love for him but does not know how and seeks out his friends advice.

"Nanaka begins to spend increasing amounts of time practicing for the upcoming festival at the temple, where she will perform a traditional dance so the sakura will bloom that year. Unexpectedly, she ditches practice to go with Sana, Syuri, and Asami to help at a retirement home. And a the day of the festival, everyone watches Nanaka perform her dance, including Sana..."

"After learning that her mother will not be home for her birthday, Hinako moves into Sana's apartment. Sana's shocked at how Hinako moves around like she's been living there for years. Initially, Sana feels as if this arrangement might cause trouble between them, however after learning of why Hinako moved in, Sana goes along with this arrangement..."

With the construction plans in motion to build a new town hall on the nature center site where Sana and everyone used to play, Shuri attempts to gather signatures to stop the project. However, the school's administration forbids Syuri to continue. Meanwhile, while still volunteering at the retirement home, Sana and Asami decide to fulfill a request by an elder lady...

Nanaka acts coldly towards Sana the following day, even after Sana tries to explain things. Sana comes upon an old mailbox that Sana and Nanaka used for private communication in their youth, and finds dozens of letters...

The whole gang heads to the theme park, where they meet Asami and her cousin. After they all meet up they decide to head off and watch a "Hero Show" prompting Nanaka to talk to Sana as they ride the ferris wheel.

Syuri and Syusuke travel to the grave of their mother to pay their respects, each buying each other presents afterwards to cheer themselves up. When they return to school the next day, an anonymous letter revealing a terrible rumor. Although the school refuses to pursue this, Syuri and Syusuke's father angrily beats Syusuke for this. Syuri, Asami, and Sana then go to give a gift to one of the...

Sana visits Asami in the hospital, where Asami reveals an unexpected piece of information. When Syuri and Syusuke arrive to visit Asami, she acts normally, although she asks Syuri to converse privately with her. Meanwhile, in the hospital's courtyard, Sana asks Nanaka something of importance...

With feelings low due to Syuri and Syusuke leaving, everyone decided to go to the river to take their minds away from what had just happened. However, before they headed off, Sana received an interesting phone call...

Nanaka recalls that on the night of the fire and a memories around it. Accepting it for what it is, it appears as if she has decided to leave it behind and get closer to Sana.
