Staff shortages and an unreachable Leonie have the team working at their limits amidst the chaos of the White Cliffs rodeo, leaving Pete and new mental health nurse Chaya alone to deal with a horrible multi-casualty car accident that forces Pete to act well outside of his scope of practice.

Pete discovers the emergency intervention he performed at White Cliffs has had major repercussions, before he, Wayne and Chaya are called to a retrieval where they are challenged to keep a critically ill patient’s explosive secret from her volatile husband--a challenge made all the more difficult when they have to change course for an injured grey nomad.

While awaiting the verdict of his tribunal, a suspended Pete is forced to face his deepest fears, when he, a grieving Wayne, and the RFDS crew are all tasked to a catastrophic multi-casualty boat crash in some of the most challenging terrain they have faced.
