In pre-independence Mangollai, Annadurai Vaathiyar defies caste barriers to educate the poor, angering powerful villagers who injure him and label him "mentally ill." Years later, his grandson Sivangaanam faces betrayal by his friend Saamikannu and must clear his family's name, fight for his love, and protect the village school built by his grandfather, now under threat of demolition.
