Storm Chasers

IMAX filmmaker Sean Casey and atmospheric scientist Josh Wurman head out to intercept one of nature's most deadly creations, tornadoes. After a few misses, they spot another storm near their location and are able to collect data.

The crew chases a huge mesocyclone into a wilderness area completely devoid of paved roads, making the storm virtually impossible to intercept. Then they're able to place their research vehicles in the center of three tornadoes.

Five weeks into their storm chasing season, Sean Casey and Josh Wurman are under the gun to intercept a tornado. Conflict between Josh and Sean reach new heights, and Sean begins to trust his instincts over Josh's science.

It's nearing the end of the tornado season, and IMAX filmmaker Sean Casey has yet to get his one shot from within a tornado's vortex. After a number of setbacks, the team rushes to Nickerson, KS, for a successful intercept.
