The Lawyer

Lawyer Frank and his sister Sara were both witnesses to the murder of their parents at a young age. Sara, now working as a police officer, finds evidence leading to Copenhagen's underworld.

Frank gets a job at the law firm that represents Thomas Waldman. He has a week to win a case and is forced to play dirty for the first time so he can get closer to the truth about his parents' death.

To win Waldman's trust, Frank defends one of his fall guys. Things get complicated when the prosecutor is Patricia Staaf, with whom Frank had an affair, and for whom he still has feelings.

Brian reveals to Frank that he has evidence linking the drug deals directly to Waldman, and Patricia agrees to enter Brian into witness protection. Sara risks Liam's safety in her attempt to help Frank.

Frank wants revenge for Patricia's shooting. He decides, against Sara's advice, to try to get Waldman's biggest enemy, Daniella Ayala, out of prison in order to create a drug war.

Frank secretly collaborates with his former colleague Fredrika to get Daniella Ayala acquitted. However, Waldman becomes increasingly nervous and orders an assassination attempt on Ayala.

Svend-Erik finds out that Frank was the one behind Ayala's release. Meanwhile, Sara frames Therese for drug possession to prevent Waldman from leaving the country.

Sara is fired from the police force after her relapse and becomes careless in her continued abuse. Frank tries to protect her while he investigates every possibility for getting Therese released.

Sara chooses to believe Blanka's version of events and abandons her quest for revenge, but she doesn't know Markos is after her. Frank fights to get Therese acquitted, but she's increasingly fragile.

Sara's identity is revealed, and when Waldman orders Frank to accompany him on a business trip to Lithuania, the siblings realise their time is running out.
