Andres Vargas is a police detective who dies while chasing the Midnight Butcher, a psychopath responsible for the murder of multiple women. While still getting over the shock of realizing he's dead, Vargas gets the chance to come back to life from a supernatural, midway dimension. But five years later, and in the body of another detective, Manuel Márquez.

Laura wants to meet her daughter's new co-worker and invites him for dinner. This way, Márquez reencounters his whole family, longing to get his former life back. On the other hand, the young gang member Márquez and Susana arrested tries to kill Márquez.

The Midnight Butcher, considered dead by everybody, after five years of inaction, kills a young woman. The young police officer is removed from the case, but she will disobey orders and will start investigating on her own.

After closing the Butcher case, the police station goes back to dealing with the usual local cases. Márquez and the Liaison are the only ones to know the murderer is out there, and it won't be long before they discover he will go after them.

Márquez and the Liaison track down the Butcher in an old guesthouse. After getting there, they will experience strange events that will complicate their investigation. Since her husband died, Laura has never celebrated her birthday again. But this time her family and friends prepare a surprise party for her.

Márquez and the Liaison find out the Butcher has put a strange device in the necklace of the dog they picked in the guesthouse. Meanwhile, the police continue investigating the disappearance of an elderly woman and they are close to discovering the Liaison is involved.

The police continue investigating the case of the guesthouse and they are closer to identifying the Liaison as a suspect. The Liaison tries to get rid of the convertible to avoid being found out, and he will be involved in a chase where Márquez himself will participate.

The Butcher comes dangerously close to Bea when he pretends to be one of her high school teachers.The Butcher gets into Bea’s high school. Pretending to be a teacher, he comes dangerously close to Vargas’s daughter. The teenager trusts him naively after having a good impression of the new teacher.

The police find the buried bodies of the hostiles. Márquez and the Liaison plan to take the bodies away before the autopsies are done and they get involved in the case. Meanwhile, David begins to suspect Márquez and decides to investigate him on his own.

Márquez and the Liaison discover the Butcher’s true identity and find where he lives. Once they get there, they face the killer, who has a chance to kill the Liaison but doesn’t do it. The policeman is left wondering why he reacted so strangely.

The Liaison and Márquez receive help from Sebas to find the Butcher. The former policeman and current owner of the bar “The Flight” wants to collaborate in the arrest of the person who killed Vargas, his best friend. However, Sebas doesn’t expect the horror scene he will witness: the attack by several hostiles in a trap set by the Butcher.

The photograph found at the Butcher’s hideout is the key to find the murder. Sebas is certain of it and tries to find out who those women are. Meanwhile, Márquez tries to manage the complex situation caused by his father’s Alzheimer’s.

The Butcher has abducted Bea to kill her. Márquez’s youngest daughter is the eighth unidentified scientist in the photograph. How is that photograph related to the Butcher’s murders?
