The Adventures of Superman

An innocent man faces execution in the electric chair and Clark Kent dons his Superman garb to save the victim's life in the thrilling half-hour drama "Five Minutes to Doom."

When an ex convict, Dan Grayson (Hugh Beaumont), who has been rehabilitated for ten years, is threatened by a blackmailing former jail mate, Luke Maynard (John Kellogg), his plight comes to the attention of Superman and results in a fast paced drama, "The Big Squeeze."

Tracking down a clue to the identity of the phantom burglar, perpetrator of a series of puzzling robberies, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen played by Noel Neill and Jack Larson, encounter mysterious Swami Amada at the outset of the thriller "The Man Who Could Read Minds."

"Jet Ace" is the exciting story of the nearly successful attempt by spies to wrest flight secrets from a convalescent test pilot, Chris White, played by Lane Bradford.

When Superman discovers that an eccentric old lady and her photographer nephew have an infra red photo showing Clark Kent switching identity to Superman, he attempts to retrieve the tell tale film in "Shot in the Dark."

There's only one element capable of destroying Superman according to the plot of the exciting half hour drama, "The Defeat of Superman." Happy King, a vengeful crook once chased from the U.S. by Superman, has the secret for preparing this fatal substance, kryptonite.

When a nuclear pile at Project X starts to build pressure and threatens to destroy Metropolis and environs, it is Superman who zooms in and manages to save the day in opening scenes of "Superman in Exile."

Superman has to best a British ghost in "A Ghost for Scotland Yard." The ghost which Superman is called on to dispel is that of Brockhurst, believed dead these last five years.

A gangster's dog becomes resolutely attached to Superman and the dog's adoration threatens to reveal the truth that Clark Kent, the newspaper reporter, and Superman, the man of steel, are one and the same, setting the stage for the exciting drama, "The Dog Who Knew Superman."

When a gang surgically alters the face of one of its member hoodlums to resemble Superman, and Metropolis is stunned by a series of robberies apparently perpetrated by the hitherto upright "Man of Steel," an exciting half hour drama results. It is titled "The Face and the Voice."

A criminal dons a lead mask and escapes detection until Clark Kent dons his Superman garb and breaks up a clever underworld racket in the half hour drama titled "The Man in the Lead Mask."

The climax of "Panic in the Sky" finds Superman trying desperately to conquer amnesia--induced by his contact with a runaway asteroid. He must act fast to save the Earth from floods and earthquakes caused by the asteroid's proximity. His success brings a thrilling finale.

"Mr. Kelso," an intricate mechanical brain, is used by crooks to plot crimes so perfect, so complete, that the police--and even Superman--are baffled in the drama "The Machine That Could Plot Crimes."

"Jungle Devil" finds Clark Kent played by George Reeves; Jimmy, performed by Jack Larson and Lois, enacted by Noel Neill, seeking and finding a lost scientist only to be captured by hostile natives.

When Tony, who owns the diner near the Daily Planet, is beset by protection racketeers, he boasts a friendship for the great Superman on very slight grounds. The fib sets off a strange series of events dramatized in "My Friend, Superman."

Rollo, the beloved circus clown, is impersonated by his former partner, Crackers, now turned thief. Crackers steals the proceeds of a charity benefit to start a fast moving Superman TV program, "The Clown Who Cried."

In "The Boy Who Hated Superman," sixteen year old Frankie hopes to aid his gangster uncle who is now in jail by spying on Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen. Instead, he learns through Jimmy's loyal companionship and Clark Kent's kindness that a boy's best and truest friends are always persons of honor and trust.

That sleuthing is no business for a youthful amateur is a lesson painfully learned by Jimmy Olsen, Superman's teenaged sidekick. When a private detective is kidnapped, Jimmy unwisely decides to borrow the detective's trappings and solve the crime without calling for help.

What motive lies behind the appearance of a corpse in a diver's suit on the main street of Metropolis, miles from deep water? That's the first of several strange events which tax all Superman's strength and ingenuity in the filmed TV drama, "Perry White's Scoop."

Superman is called to cope with an unknown enemy, "The Wrecker," believed responsible for a series of disasters involving planes, trains and ships. A baffling bell like sound is Superman's only clue.

The master of the tramp ship "Golden Vulture" has been converting stolen gold into pieces of eight and foisting off this ill-gotten wealth as recovered treasure. Lois and Jimmy become prisoners, and Clark Kent is forced to walk the plank during this thrilling Superman TV drama.

The boys hold down all the important offices in Metropolis for one day. "Jimmy Olsen, Boy Editor," has his chief's post for 24 hours, but in his eagerness to splash a hot news story across the pages of the Planet he touches off an exciting day for Superman in the drama.

That's the mystery that engages Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane and, of course, Superman. George Reeves, Jack Larson and Noel Neill are in leading roles of the half-hour, Hollywood-filmed TV drama which finds Jimmy baffled by a clever gang of art thieves.

A fabulous sapphire--and a curse are in the ancient Egyptian box auctioned off during opening scenes of "Star of Fate." More important is a hidden needle containing a hypnotic poison inside the lock.
