Cleaver is caught having an affair with the New South Wales Premier, wife of Attorney General, Cal McGregor. Meanwhile, Cleaver defends the wife of an alleged terrorist who blew himself up in front of Parliament.

The Attorney General begins a campaign of police harassment against Cleaver in retaliation for the affair. Barney works on the case of a man who poses as a board member at various meetings around town.

Missy’s memoir of her life as a prostitute causes a sensation. Cleaver hooks up with an underage film student at a play starring the girl’s aunt, one of Cleaver’s ex-girlfriends. After going into even more gambling debt, Cleaver gets involved with mob boss Kirsty.

Missy’s fiancé, Joshua -the founder of a high-profile online leak site- faces treason charges, while Cleaver defends a Peeping Tom and laments the lack of lucrative cases coming his way. Cleaver and Wendy face a new crisis with Fuzz.

Cleaver consoles Missy, who is charged with Joshua’s murder. Barney breaks his arm and accidentally deepens the divide between him and Scarlet. A mysterious cigarette-smoking man approaches Cleaver with information about Joshua’s case.

Barney and Cleaver defend a man accused of severing his neighbor’s penis with garden shears. Scarlet finds herself in serious trouble because of her testimony for the Attorney General.

Scarlet is devastated when Cal’s photograph of her and David reaches the newspapers. Missy is still in her rut when Cleaver receives bad news from his sister.
