Nick finds himself in the midst of feuding mods and rockers in Whitby, while a gold hunt is triggered when part of a robbery haul surfaces in the village.

The race is on to find Nick when Kate goes into labour. Meanwhile, teenagers are running riot in the village and a spirited traveller puts a hex on Greengrass.

Nick appears to be uninterested when there is a spate of petrol thefts in the village, and Blaketon is enraged to discover that he is neglecting his job to spend time with Kate and the baby.

While visiting Kate's grave, Nick and baby Katie meet a young German. Elsewhere, an old man who has visited Aidensfield with his wife on holiday for years suddenly goes missing with Claude.

A local woman in her mid-40s started to exhibit symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Plus, Sophie asks Barry to set their house on fire to finally end her suffering.

Alf is convinced that he was witness to a UFO sighting during a dangerous electrical storm, but he can't remember what happened. Maggie suggests that Alf should see a hypnotist to fill in the missing moments.

A petty thief makes several attacks in the area, including terrifying Gina and injuring Maggie. At least, a Bob Dylan look a like arrives and entertains everyone with his music.

While celebrating Katie's christening, Nick receives a visit from an old girlfriend of his to inform him that they will be investigate the criminal activities of the owner of a well known gambling club.

Arthur Wakefield has a heart attack while fighting with an intruder. Meanwhile, Special Constable Cowley is assigned to help Nick on his patch, but Nick isn't pleased with the idea.

While excavating Ventress' new property, Greengrass finds an unexploded bomb. The army is brought in to diffuse the bomb and the police have to evacuate the whole village.

When Professor Brigstock passes away in his home, a stranger finds his body and makes off with his papers.

Nick looks into a pirate radio station operating off the coast of Whitby. Meanwhile, Maggie receives a visit.
