The story of the first submarine in history to sink an enemy ship. It was 1863, in the American Civil War, and follows each crew member, leading up to the historic encounter with the U.S.S. Housatonic, in Charleston Harbor. As a result of this encounter, countries all over the world canceled the construction of wooden ships for their navies and moved to submarines and ironclads.
