Where We Belong

Two single female filmmakers set out to make a documentary on marriage. Traveling through the states, New Zealand and Australia, they begin taking a deeper look at the inner workings of marriage.

As Sadie and Teya continue to travel and interview couples, they hear stories about vulnerability, communication and overcoming. Sadie and Teya begin to have conflict working together.

Sadie and Teya meet with producers to grow their team. The tension between Sadie and Teya grows. They hear stories of divorce, unmet expectations and the importance of (being honest) finding your voice. Teya is challenged to take a deeper look at herself and what she is really struggling with.

The documentary takes a turn as Sadie and Teya talk to people about shame, porn and what intimacy really is. Sadie reveals more of her story and inner struggles.

The journey continues to deepen as they begin to see the importance of understanding our own story and the ways that pain and trauma affect the way we see ourselves and react to the people around us. Sadie addresses her loneliness.

As Sadie and Teya are wrapping up the journey of this documentary, reflecting on their stories and those of the people around them, they begin seeing the deeper meaning behind all the struggles and conflict. They begin to see where we all belong...
