In this fourth heat another 9 new artists tackle the portraits of actor Stephanie Martini and Conleth Hill and model Rachel hunter in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

In the penultimate heat another 9 new artists put brush to canvas as they tackle the portraits of actors Elizabeth McGovern and Fiona Shaw and Paralympian Kadeena Cos as they try and win over Judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

This week, the last batch of artists will be showcasing their skills are they paint the likeness of actors Kenneth Cranham, Claire Skinner and Sope Dirisu in a bid to impress judges Tai Shan Schierenberg, Kate Bryan and Kathleen Soriano.

The winners from each heat will go head to head as they all paint the portraits of Entertainer Michael Ball, presenter Anita Rani and actor Robert Bathurst.

Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell head to glorious surrounds of the nightclub, the Café De Pars in the West End. The artists are given an additional challenge of painting two sitters, the actors Simon Callow and Lily Cole.

The final episode of Portrait Artist of the Year sees our final three artists paint musician Emeli Sande at the National Portrait Gallery. They also unveil commission paintings of designer Kenneth Grange, fashion designed Zandra Rhodes and musician Geri Horner.

In this final programme, our winner embarks on the ten thousand pound commission to paint a portrait of award-winning actress Kim Cattrall. Kim was born and spent her childhood in Liverpool, and travels back to her home town to meet our winning artist and sit for her portrait.
