Ghost Town History with Ken and Brenda Gallacher

"You can't find silver in sandstone." In this episode, Ken and Brenda Gallacher explore Silver Reef near St George, Utah. In the Historic Byway, Ken and Brenda discover remains of what was called "the light line" across north America and the beginnings of the US Airmail service. Finally the story of Jarvie Ranch, in the northeast corner of Utah, where a 100 year old murder mystery remains.

Fighting with a river. Pioneers settled a valley on the virgin river near Zion NP. Stunning in its beauty, the river proved to be too much. Uniting the United States was a constant challenge, and Ken and Brenda look at the last communication method that used flesh and blood to operate across the west. Knightsville was known as much for what it didn't have and the man behind it, Jessie Knight.

Bypassed by the gold rush, prospectors returned to South Pass Wyoming and found gold! One of the three sweetwater sisters, South Pass City was the hub for industry and government in its prime. See what we found and the major impact it had in the politics at the turn of the last century.
