Building Homes for Heroes

In 2013, Capt. Nathan Nelson was injured in a rocket attack in Afghanistan, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Returning to his pregnant wife, he faced a new reality. Andy Pujol and Building Homes for Heroes stepped in to build a home tailored for his needs, answering their prayers.

Sgt. Kirstie Ennis joined the Marine Corps at 17, becoming an aerial door gunner. In June 2012, her helicopter crashed, shattering her jaw, causing severe facial injuries, and leading to a leg amputation. Building Homes for Heroes gifted her a new home in the Colorado Rockies, allowing her to start anew.

In December 2011, EOD technician Aaron Hale lost his sight to an IED blast in Afghanistan. Returning home as a father, his life changed drastically. Andy Pujol and Building Homes for Heroes renovated a home for Hale, aiding his adjustment to his new reality. This home became the foundation for finding love and a new business opportunity.

In November 2011, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Greg Caron lost both legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan. Returning home, life changed drastically for him and his wife, Nina. Building Homes for Heroes, led by Andy Pujol, built a new house in Greg's hometown to help restore his dignity and rebuild his life.

On September 11, 2001, Andy Pujol, a first responder at the World Trade Center, committed to helping wounded veterans. He and his team started by building one home for an injured serviceman. Over 15 years, Building Homes for Heroes has donated over 170 homes, transforming the lives of deserving veterans and their families.
