Liberty

In the fictional town of Sunrise, we follow an angry and secluded girl, Kelly Turner and the popular high school football running back, Jason Walker. As the school year starts, they both find themselves in daily struggles with their parents and school and feel the pressure grow.

Jason is placed in an awkward position since becoming the captain of his football team. Jason is stuck between doing what's right and getting back at David for quitting the team. After Kelly treats her Dad's girlfriend Stacey with malice, she gets a punishment that she couldn't imagine; helping Stacey at her cheerleading gym.

Kelly, now working for Stacey's cheerleading gym, tries to find ways to get out of work by getting in trouble at school. A stuck-up cheerleader Britney only makes things worse for her. Jason, dealing with David's departure and the pressure of his fathers' high expectations, gets peer pressured into pulling a prank for the football team and meets Kelly in the process.

Jason and Kelly, both in trouble at school for their actions start to come to terms with their situations. Jason begins to deal with his father, as he gets worse at practice. Jason talks with his younger brother Ryan about his problems. In the mean time, Kelly, still working for Stacey, shows some promise in cheerleading and meets an attractive fellow gym worker Nathan.

Kelly, still in shock in trying out, shrugs off the possibility of being in Stacey's senior team. Kelly's cousin, Michelle, tries to convince her that she actually enjoyed it. Jason, is getting more intrigued at joining cheerleading but torn by his father's expectations. He's also getting pressure from his ex-girlfriend, Megan, to get back together with him.

As Kelly deals of being on the team, she must decide if this is what she wants to do and how to handle Nathan. Jason is still unsure what his direction is. As life pushes both Kelly and Jason, they both must make decisions that can affect everything in their lives.

In life, choices have to be made. Kelly Turner's mother deserted her when she was a child in which Kelly blames herself. Jason Walker's demanding father makes him play football but knowing football is not for him, Jason is ready to finally stand up to his abusive father. As Kelly runs from her past and Jason runs from his future, they both find themselves in the unlikely sport of cheerleading.
