A 12 year old girl witnesses a murder and is chased by the assassin (Laurence Fishburne) to an isolated farmhouse occupied by a suicidal man (Thomas Jane) holding a shotgun with a single shell. A tense standoff ensues over the next 24 hours as the two desperate men fight for the little girls life and engage in physical and psychological warfare.
