The Genie From Down Under

Penelope Towns finds a magic opal and discovers that in it are two helpful genies. She thinks that there will be no more problems and that she can wish for anything she wants. The genies, however, have other ideas.

Otto and Conrad arrive at Townes Downes with a group of tourists. When Otto hears about the opal, he recalls that it belonged to his family a long time ago. Otto will do anything to get the opal back.

Bruce is desperate to become a human. For that to come true, he must take the opal to the cave where it had been over a hundred years before. He plans on tricking Penelope to visit the cave.

Penelope is determined to win the Cross Country. She wins the race and she didn't need the help from the genies. She wishes that Conrad could see her success. He does, but not how she wanted him to see it.

Penelope, Miss Mossop and Lady Diana are arrested by an officer and caught with 20 million pounds when they are returned to England. The genies provided them with all the money. They were arrested because that amount of money was stolen from the Royal Mint.

Bruce helped Otto and Conrad get the opal, but he only did it because he thought they would help him return to Australia. It didn't turn out like Bruce expected it would; instead the Von Meisters sold the opal for 25,000 pounds.

Lady Diana's wish is to visit Australia. Her wish is granted and they are back at Townes Downes. Penelope is furious. She decides to punish Lady Diana and Bruce. She wishes that Lady Diana and Otto would fall madly in love.

Bruce always misinterprets her wishes, so Penelope writes down her perfect wish. Everything turns out fine, Marcia is ugly, Penelope is perfect, and Lady Diana is rich. However, the two genies have the last laugh.

Conrad is certain that Bruce is weird, so he tries to capture him. Meanwhile, everyone gets the feeling that Conrad is the one that's strange.

Conrad figures out that Bruce and Baz are magical genies, so he decides to work on Baz by taking him to a place where any kid would want to go, an amusement park. When Conrad takes the opal, Baz helps Penelope get it back.

Penelope wishes that she would be in England in time for Marcia's birthday party. When Penelope arrives in England, she finds out that she has a catch-up exam. Not worrying about the exam, Penelope heads off to Marcia's birthday party convinced that the opal will help her pass the exam.

Otto and Conrad get the idea, from two identical twins, to make an exact copy of the opal and switch it with Penelope's. With two opals, one real and one replica, there's not much magic happening.

Bruce manages to get the opal back to the cave. Penelope on the other hand convinces him not to leave. Later that day, Bruce and Diana share a passionate kiss.
