In South Africa, British vets and volunteers are helping save the lives of the Big Five, some of whom are critically endangered. Today vet Emily takes on a challenging lion relocation and has a close call when the big cat wakes up unexpectedly.

Emma deals with a very sickly emergency patient, vet Emily has a hard decision to make when a Cape buffalo is seriously injured, and Anna from Birmingham is hoping to help dehorn five white rhinos to make them less valuable to poachers.

Emma looks after Mars the aardvark who demands five-hour walks every night. Josie has her work cut out as an injured vervet monkey is rushed in after being run over. Meanwhile, the time has come to dehorn five previously released white rhinos.

Harriet is called out to an emergency operation on an elephant whose leg has been wounded. Volunteer Debbie is put to the test as nine orphaned baby monkeys arrive at once, and Emma becomes surrogate mother to three-week-old baby hippo Hector.

Vet Will has a huge task on his hands as he has to move Harry, a five-ton troublesome bull elephant, to a new home. At Riverside Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Debbie has her hands full of orphaned baboons, Holly and Ivy.

Jenna and Sean are joined by resident elephants and a meerkat in a unique experiment, using the animals' amazing sense of smell to discover whether the African puff adder, one of the world's deadliest predators, is truly odorless.

It's vaccination day at the rhino sanctuary, and Rachel is worried about the orphan hawk, who has an eye infection. On the Eastern Cape, vet Emily is called to help four young sable antelope who are being bullied by an older dominant male.
