After her parents die, Yoon Se-ra is raised by Lee Soon-hwa and eventually becomes engaged to her son. Lead ship designer, Kim Hyun-min, balks when pressured to speed through a ship building project. The company chairman sends his daughter to persuade him to hurry things along.

Kim Hyun-min drinks too much at a dinner with Chairman Jang. When Kim Hyun-min does not answer his phone, Yoon Se-ra becomes concerned for her boss. Yoon Se-ra catches Kim Hyun-min and Chairman Jang's daughter enjoying each other.

After seeing Kim Hyun-min and Jang Tae-hee together, Yoon Se-ra cries. Jang Tae-hee's father sends her to work as managing director in a hotel, upsetting her. She is rejected by Kim Hyun-min. Yoon Se-ra sees her at the hotel.

Yoon Se-ra, secretary to Jang Tae-sung, visits the Jang estate on an errand. It reminds her of her humble origins. She is assigned to be the interpreter to Mr. Philips who is contemplating doing business with Jang's rivals.

After much persuasion, Philips signs with Dongjin Industries. Yoon Se-ra is left out of the hotel nightclub celebration. She is devastated to see Kim Hyun-min taking Jang Tae-hee to a hotel suite.

Yoon Se-ra receives a hotel membership card as reward for her help on the Philips signing. She refuses when Kim Hyun-min demands she return the gift. On her way to see Kin Hyun-min on his birthday, she is sidetracked by Jang Tae-sung.

Yoon Se Ra decides that her work takes precedence over Kim Hyun Min's idea to marry now. Chairman Jang seeks to meet Kim Hyun Min's parents and hopes there will be a marriage soon.

Yoon Se Ra and Jang Tae Hee make a deal that is beneficial for everyone involved. Kim Hyun Min receives unexpected news from Yoon Se Ra as he comes back from work related travel.

A heartbroken Kim Hyun Min deals with the end of his relationship and a cancelled wedding. Authorities arrest Kim Hyun Min for his possible involvement in a serious crime at work.

The authorities barge into Hyun Min's house with a search warrant. Se Ra gets a second job taking care of a troubled young child on the weekends while still working as a secretary through the week at Dongjin Heavy Industries.

Hyun Min has been sued by Dongjin Industries. Mr. Jang's sister tries to convince Se Ra to go back to Hyun Min rather than marry her brother. The boss' daughter confesses her love for Hyun Min.

Hyun Min is bombarded with questions about his private life from his boss. Se Ra is forced to make a difficult decision between the two things she wants most in life.

Hyun Min is depressed about Se Ra's decision to marry Chae Sung. Hyun Min attends the wedding, but he finds it difficult to be happy for the newly married couple.

Hyun Min regrets not telling Se Ra how much he loved her before she married Chae Sung. As his personal life begins to fall apart, Hyun Min gets a surprise job offer at another ship building company.

The launch of the SP Shipbuilding company is celebrated over dinner with Hyun Min. The Dongjin Shipbuilding company discusses the new company and become fearful of their latest competition and what the future might hold.

Hyun Min's new female business partner quizzes him about his relationship with Se Ra. Chae Sung questions Se Ra about her true feelings for Hyun Min and demands that she explains their relationship.

Se Ra finds out from P. Phyllis that Chae Sung bought a ring for a past love named Marie when he was away on business. Se Ra starts a fight with Chae Sung about the ring.

Mrs. Ha is discovered lying unconscious on the floor of her room. Tae Ryung is concerned, but Se Ra makes her leave the scene. SP Shipbuilding begins to make plans to build their first ship.

Hyun Min begins making negotiations to get the contract signed for SP Shipbuilding. Tae-Hee is rude to Ms. Ha. Se Ra scolds her for being rude. Tae-Hee is distraught at the discovery that Ms. Ha is actually Tae Ryung's mother.

Mr. Jang wants Se Ra to help ensure that Hyun Min and Tae Hee get married. Se Ra and Chae Sung speak privately about the humiliation Chae Sung's father continually puts him through.

Se Ra meets with Hyun Min to apologize for everything and to congratulate him on getting the order. Hyun Min tells Se Ra he has managed to get over her. Meanwhile, Chae Sung meets with the boss of SP Shipbuilding for a congratulatory lunch.

Sparks fly between Chae Sung and another woman. Se Ra helps Tae Hee with her sprained ankle but has to leave quickly when Tae Hee gets a call from Hyun Min.

Mr. Jang encourages Se Ra to go with Hyun Min. Se Ra tells Mr. Jang that she cannot be with Hyun Min and must stay with Chae Sung. Tae Hee and Hyun Min enjoy a walk in the park.

Chae Sung's father falls ill. Kyun Nim and Tae Hee arrive at the hospital to wish him well. Chae Sung encourages Tae Hee to convince Kyun Nim to leave SP Shipbuilding.
