Inspired by America's "Gay Sunshine", the newspaper "Lampião" was created in 1978, during Brazil's dictatorship. It depicted a gay point of view about various subjects, addressing controversial topics, such as racism, abortion, drugs and prostitution. A publication that paved the way for the local press during that time.
