Nicki wants to go for Shodan (black belt). She has to learn Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, and other katas but Nicki has her sights set on sport karate, which Cliff disapproves of. Nicki is determined to practice "cool" karate after meeting a taekwondo blackbelt. Nicki struggles through her SAT prep class so that she can go to college while Cliff's health suffers from old age.
