Afrobeats: From Nigeria to the World

The first chapter analyses the origins of Afrobeat and its musical evolution. We dig into the history of its creation with Fela Kuti but also with the other music genres related to recent Afrobeats, such as the Nigerian Highlife of the 70s and 80s.

Afrobeats continues to grow whilst having a huge influence on pop culture. African superstars now regularly sell out concerts overseas and receive airplay on platforms around the world.
