Lisa wrestles her parents into the car for the long haul to her brother Marco's for the big family gathering. The drive stirs memories of a childhood road trip-when Aldo was the "keeper of secrets." Now, it turns out, they all have baggage in the trunk.

Trapped with the coats in the back of the car, Lisa broods over her soon-to-be ex-husband, Bill. Then, she stages a massive texting #fail with Bill and a potential hot date she met at the airport. Meanwhile, her brothers have their surprising encounters.

Lisa face-plants in front of a car, narrowly avoiding disaster and making a new friend. Aldo gets lost in memories of being the unwelcome "other," only to find his cranky inner bigot. Tano and Nisha show up at Marco's with a surprise guest.

Ella slips into a German-speaking fugue state, thinking she's back in her childhood in Germany and that Lisa is her grandma. Lisa panics and calls Bill. Aldo gets pulled over on the freeway and nearly lands himself in jail.

Lisa ducks out early from the big family dinner to go on a date with a guy she met at the airport. But she can't stop thinking about the first time she met Bill - it's almost as if he were there. Which he IS when she comes home-the next morning.

Marco can't stop thinking about his estranged brother Dino. Lisa is stuck on "what could still be" with Bill. Tano has a surprise in his back pocket. But it's Ella who shocks everyone when she collapses-at the absolute worst moment.

Lisa anxiously awaits Ella's hospital release. Meanwhile, Tano flashes back to his breakup with Sarah and ponders the "what ifs." Another family dinner ends abruptly when Tano discovers Lisa's secret-a bombshell that could've rewritten his whole life.

With another chaotic family gathering in the rearview, Lisa is still clueless about what she wants in life. She starts to wonder if a high school misadventure-the one no one dares mention- is what set her off track to begin with.
