Grantchester

It's 1958 in Grantchester, and the vicarage family and the Keatings are on a much-needed summer break at Merries Holiday Camp – only for it to turn into something of a working vacation for Will and Geordie, when the camp's owner Roy Reeves is found dead in suspicious circumstances.

When a baptism service is disrupted by a man claiming he's the rightful father of the child, and not the smiling parents around the font, Will and Geordie find themselves drawn into a complicated family dispute which seems to be connected to the murder of Joan Beaumont, the head of a local adoption agency. Meanwhile at the vicarage, a sinister letter arrives for Leonard.

Will and Geordie are drawn into local politics when the death of Councillor Derek McArthur prompts an election. After a formal complaint about Leonard is made to the Archdeacon, he informs the police. Geordie finds himself in the uncomfortable position of having to question Leonard and Daniel. Both Mrs C and Will find themselves increasingly conflicted. Will they lie to protect Leonard?

An otherwise quiet nightshift is disrupted when an American airman collapses and dies. Geordie and Will must try and work out how he could have been murdered in plain sight, in police custody. Leonard and Daniel spend the night reassessing their relationship – and their future – in light of Leonard's impending trial.

As the day of Leonard's trial dawns, Will and Geordie are called upon to investigate an audacious robbery from a bank security van in Cambridge, which has had tragic repercussions for an innocent bystander. The investigation leads Geordie to cross paths with old army buddy now working as a solicitor.

When the leader of a student CND group, Rachel Bromilow, falls to her death from a college building while staging a daring protest, Will and Geordie discover her death is not as accidental as it first appears and must infiltrate the world of campus politics to find her killer. Meanwhile, there's an unexpected new arrival at the vicarage.

When Leonard's prison cellmate Joe Davies is accused of murdering another inmate, Leonard asks Will and Geordie for their help, convinced that Joe is innocent. However the murder bears striking similarities to the crime for which Joe was incarcerated--the drowning of his own mother--and with everyone convinced Joe is guilty, could Leonard have got it wrong?

Geordie and Will investigate a domestic incident at the home of singer Rita Daltrey and her domineering music producer husband Gene. When Gene is discovered murdered the next day, Geordie finds himself implicated in the investigation. As Geordie is drawn deeper into Johnny's life, he's forced to finally face up to some traumatic events from his own past.
